Dia&Co Review: Why I Love the Plus Size Styling Service

dia&co review

I remember my first Dia&Co box back in 2016–back when I was living in New Hampshire and before I really started on this blogging adventure. It was definitely long before I was a Dia&Co ambassador*. This Dia&Co review comes from more than 4 years of using the plus size styling service from receiving curated boxes to shopping in their online store. I’m really excited to share what I know in my Dia&Co review.

For proof of how long I’ve been shopping Dia&Co, here’s some throwbacks of me in 2016. Oh, those old iPhones were not meant to take photos in dim lighting, ha!

What is Dia&Co?

Dia&Co is a plus size fashion company, offering custom curated boxes like Stitch Fix or Nordstrom Trunk Club. Dia&Co also offers an online store where you can shop on your own without the help of a stylist. Founded in 2015, Nadia Boujarwah wanted to create a company that fulfilled her own need to find fashionable, accessible plus size clothing in a world that has historically not catered to us curvy ladies.

Dia&Co carries a mix of well-known brands and exclusive offerings. You’ll see items from brands that are designed and developed for the Dia Community, like Molly & Isadora and East Adeline. Dia&Co also carries exclusive pieces from brands like Kut From the Kloth, Leota and Marybelle. And, of course, you can shop non-exclusive brands like City Chic. My point is: Dia&Co offers OPTIONS for a variety of personal styles and price points.

How Does Dia&Co Styling Work?

Step 1: Take the Style Quiz.

This is where you share who you are, what styles you like, what size you wear and specific fit issues you have. That gives your Dia&Co stylist the ability to make clothing selections perfectly suited for you. It won’t take more than 10 minutes. Get started with the quiz.

Step 2: Schedule Your Box and Let Your Stylist Work.

Pick a date for when you need your box to arrive. It makes it predictable so it doesn’t arrive when you’re on vacation or something. Fun fact: my first Dia&Co stylist was the one and only Maxey Greene and she also happens to be one of my favorite Instagram fashionistas.

Step 3: Try on Your Dia&Co Box at Home.

All five items in your box can be tried in the comfort of your home. No need to worry about awful dressing room lighting. Seriously, when will they fix that problem? Anyways, try it all on at your leisure within the 5-day window,

Step 4: Keep What You Want and Return What You Don’t.

Once you’ve decided what you love and what you don’t, you can use the pre-labeled shipping bag to put any returns or exchanges into. Then, you drop it off in a USPS box and they go back to Dia&Co. You get charged for the items you keep. You also have the opportunity to review your items afterwards and leave feedback for your stylist, so they can do even better with the next box.

How Much Does a Dia&Co Box Cost?

A Dia&Co box costs $20, which covers the styling fee. That $20 then acts as a credit toward your box items. So, thinking of the Dia&Co styling fee as an investment in your wardrobe. As for the individual items, the price of each item varies. That said, during the Style Quiz, they ask what price point you’re comfortable with for different items like tops, jeans and outerwear.

Oh, and BONUS: If you keep everything in the box, you get an additional 25% off all your items!

How to Shop the Dia&Co Store

When Dia&Co first started, they only offered the styled boxes. But in recent years, they’ve expanded to offer an ecommerce store, so you can shop direct without a stylist. While I love Dia&Co’s curated boxes when I want to be pushed outside my comfort zone, I love the ability to shop their selection of plus size clothing on my own.

Some of my favorite pieces from the Dia&Co store include this Meri Skye striped top, my Gilli tie-dye loungewear and my dark floral top–all pictured below. Shop for your own wardrobe now.

Which is Better: Stitch Fix or Trunk Club or Dia&Co?

I was a Stitch Fix subscriber before adding Dia&Co to my subscription services. Nordstrom’s Trunk Club came into my life later. From a cost and experience perspective, the services are essentially identical. I have pieces I love from all three styling services.

That said, while Stitch Fix offers plus sizes, Dia&Co specializes in that space. Dia&Co lives and breathes plus size fashion, so if you’re new to the world of subscription styling services and wear sizes 12+, I recommend starting with Dia&Co.

I love Trunk Club for more trendy pieces because you get the Nordstrom brands and variety. AND Trunk Club boxes come with 12 items vs. the 5 items in a Dia&Co or Stitch Fix box. I like how many pieces Trunk Club sends.

My Dia&Co Review

Dia&Co’s styling services are PERFECT for anyone looking to find a new personal style, update their wardrobe for the season, or find the perfect outfit for the event. I love their store for the same reasons; there’s always carefully curated collections for the season. I can easily go in and select on-trend items to add to my wardrobe.

That’s my Dia&Co review! I’m curious what your experience has been. Share in the comments or feel free to ask questions if you want to know more!
