The Reno Philharmonic: A Hidden Reno, NV Gem

the Reno philharmonic's Spirit of the Season show

As a lover of music, I go to as many Reno, Nevada performances as I can (and I also have the pleasure of singing in a band here as well. The Reno Philharmonic is, without a doubt, one of the best hidden gems when it comes to things to do in Reno. They put on year-round performances at the Pioneer Center (The Spirit of the Season is one of my personal favorites) and around the Reno Tahoe region, bringing culture and grandeur to the Biggest Little City in the World.

Disney in Concert – June 24, 2023

One of the coolest concert types that the Reno Phil does are more “pop culture” centric. (Like their 2022 show where they played the Ghostbusters score live during a movie showing. So cool!) In June, they will be performing iconic Disney songs for fans of all ages. There are two shows that day, so get them before they sell out! It’s sure to be a popular one. Get tickets.

I have never had the chance to attend in person, but look forward to attending in 2023!

The Spirit of the Season 2023

This annual show is near and dear to my heart. My mom and I go every year to kick off the holiday season. Typically in early December, this show includes singing by an incredible choir, and special performances by dancers, handbell choirs and other unusual talents. It’s fun for adults and kids alike. Just make sure you come ready to sing along to holiday tunes at the end!
