featuring real numbers from 2022 bride, @HereGoesGabbi
We chose to elope in order to 1) keep to a budget and 2) because we wanted to enjoy this special moment privately and stress-free. That said an elopement can be done very inexpensively or as grand as you want.
We got married in Glenbrook on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe in September. We live in Reno, so we did not have to fly anywhere and our vendors were local.
Jared's suit, tie and shirt from Men's Warehouse cost $650.
My dress was gifted by David's Bridal, but it cost $699 when you purchase and I spent $600 on alterations like the bustle.
In Douglas County, Nevada, a marriage license was $85.
Jared's ring from Manly Bands was $325, and mine from Brilliant Earth was $1000.
Our lovely officiant Stephanie DioDato was $475.
For the arches, my bouquet and the set up from Quality Event Design, we paid $925.
We got an Airbnb with a view of Lake Tahoe for 2 nights at a total of $1450.
@AlleyRoseCo's package cost about $2000 at the time and she helps with planning!
We did things like purchase some cocktail ingredients to make after the ceremony and vow books to write in. I'd budget an extra $500 for miscellaneous.
For an experience like ours, I'd recommend planning for $10,000 in total to give yourselves wiggle room on things such as venue, dress or photographer.
