Things You Didn’t Know You Needed: Faux Fur Outerwear

Welcome to the first post in a new (somewhat sporadic) series called “Things You Didn’t Know You Needed” inspired by my friend Whitney. Since Whitney and I became friends this summer, she has collected a variety of items in her closet–a trend that doesn’t seem likely to stop anytime soon. So, I start this series with faux fur outerwear.

Perhaps, the least sensible item Whitney has purchased during our friendship is a pink faux fur vest from Target. (Tar-jay as I like to call it.) We went to get snacks before wine tasting in Napa and she walked out with a vest.

Styled with black jeans, booties and a long-sleeve black top, it’s perfect funky piece of outwear for wine tasting in Napa.

Whitney wasn’t the only one to leave Target with an unplanned item. (I mean that’s pretty par for the course at Target, am I right?) I walked out with a faux fur wine-colored jacket, which I wear constantly. It’s ultra soft and I get compliments all the time. Bonus: It was available in a wide range of sizes. Target is doing a better and better job of offering extended sizes. Just another reason to love it.

Faux fur outerwear–vest or jacket–is the perfect way to add a stylish flair to an outfit as simple as jeans and black tank top.

Until the next trip to Target, here goes nothing.
