My Must-Have Skincare Products for 2020

Here on Here Goes Gabbi, 2020 is all about skincare. My word for the year is balanced from food to fitness to work to my skin. I want glowy, balanced skin from head to toe. I’ll be sharing my journey all year on Instagram and here on the blog, which will include testing a lot of products. While I have a lot to learn, I have a few products that I always have on hand. This will be a living, breathing list this year. Come back any time for updates!

Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub

I got this as a Christmas gift, and it was the best one! I had never heard of Frank Body until their Original Coffee Scrub showed up in my stocking. Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub is a blend of natural ingredients that scrubs away dry, flaky skin and leaves my skin feeling crazy soft.

Fair warning, it’s not a creamy scrub. It’s sort of like reaching into a bag of coffee grounds and rubbing them on your body. It’s going to get EVERYWHERE in your shower. It doesn’t stain and the impact is worth the mess (which can just be washed away).

Frank Body Creamy Face Scrub

After I loved the Frank Body Body Scrub so much, I had to try the face scrub. I was told to start exfoliating (I know, that’s like rule #1 of skincare. I’m new to the game.) I like to use this in the morning to wake up my face. It detoxifies pores, fight breakouts and acne & fades scars. I’ve only been using it for about two weeks now, and I’m already seeing my acne fade–even in my most troubled areas like my jawline.

Clinique Take The Day Off Balm

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that in 2020 I am trying to embrace my skin, find a skincare routine and wear less makeup in my daily life. When I do wear makeup, I use my Clinique Take The Day Off Balm to dissolve the makeup from eye shadow to foundation and primer. The balm turns into a silky oil as it warms up on your hands and face and really does take EVERYTHING off without making your skin feel stripped and dry.

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense

Living in Reno means dealing with the dry air and elevation. I didn’t realize it until a got a facial and the esthetician told me my skin was soaking up everything she put on my face. So, I invested in the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Lotion. I do really trust Clinique products. My first makeup in 8th grade was Clinique. I’ve drifted away, but I do always come back.

The lotion is heavy and perfect for before bed. I put a small amount of this on my face and wake up completely moisturized.

WHEN Glamour Face Masks

My friend, makeup artist and skincare expert Gracie introduced me to these during her makeup masterclass (I was the model). She puts them on her clients before putting on their wedding and special event makeup to get their skin super moisturized and prepped. This brand of masks is expensive(ish), but well worth it. I found a pack of 12 on Amazon for $84, a worthwhile investment if you need to have these on hand for special occasions.

Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Black Head 3-Step Kit

Who else gets pesky blackheads? I’ve tried a million ways to clean the pores on my nose and this nose mask is the most effective way I’ve found yet. It’s a three-part system (part 2 is the most satisfying, btw). I do this at least once a month. You can get a five-pack on Amazon, and you’ll be good until summer.

Ulta Rose Quartz Facial Roller

This is my newest purchase, a recommendation from my skincare expert and friend, Gracie. She advocates for rollers to help massage away puffiness and pollution. I made the roller cold by putting it in the refrigerator and massaged away my demons while doing a hydrating face mask. I felt glowy AF and I look forward to seeing the long-term benefits of regular use.
