My Favorite Coffee Spot in Val d’Isere

After my time Lake Louise last month, I ventured to Europe to follow the FIS Alpine World Cup tour over there. I spent my entire trip in France. Rough job, right? Things kicked off in Val d’Isere, an iconic ski town about four hours northeast of Milan. I spent 11 days in an Airbnb in town, which I highly recommend.

One of the most important considerations when traveling for work is where to get internet access. My Airbnb had fast, reliable internet, which was great, but I like to be around people. For the days when press rooms aren’t open, I prefer coffee shops on the road. That’s where Arctic Cafe comes in.

Located in the heart of this ski town, Arctic Cafe‘s refers to itself as an “arctic energy cafe.” They serve American-sized coffee beverages (which are hard to come by in Europe) as well as a menu of healthy food to keep you fueled on the slope. All that comes in a cute little package—a hipster store with wood tables and metal seating. Bonus: The employees speak amazing English as many are from the U.K. and Australia.

What To Order
For Breakfast: Poached Eggs on toast with a side of avocado (pictured above)

Juice: The “Get Sexy” (Strawberry, Apple, Basil, Ginger)

Coffee: Mocha or Latte for me (What can I say? I like the classics.)

If you’re in Val d’Isere, definitely stop in. Until next time, here goes nothing.
